- How can I apply to AREL PCG?
If you wish to get information on Psychological Counseling or benefit from psychological counseling services, you may get an appointment via phone, e-mail or by meeting our consultants at our center. At your first application, a preliminary interview is carried out with you. Then you may continue such interviews on any day and time you have scheduled with your consultant (once a week, approximately 45 minutes).
- How does psychological counseling process work?
During psychological counseling process, your psychological consultant will listen to you, accepting you unconditionally under the framework of objectiveness, confidentiality, confidence and respects towards personal rights. They help you to find new ways to solve your problems by being clear and honest towards you.
Your responsibility during psychological counseling process is to be present at interviews on days and hours scheduled, to be clear and honest on matters targeted during interviews, if required, to carry out all personal development works assigned to you.
- Will I encounter any sanction if I don’t come to my PCG appointments?
If you are to cancel or postpone your appointment due to an important excuse, you must call and inform your consultant 24 hours prior. So, your consultant may provide services to another student during that time.
Otherwise, students who didn’t come to their appointment twice (2) and who have not informed their consultant at least one day prior about their failure to come to the appointment will not be able to demand another appointment from PCG during the academic semester.

- What are working hours of AREL PCG?
Our centers provide its services to our students on week days between:
Tepekent Campus 09.00-12.00
Sefaköy Campus 14.00-18.00.
- Should I have a serious psychological disorder to apply to PCG?
We handle not only psychological disorders during our conversations but at the same time, various problems which bring pressure on you. We provide counseling services on matters such as problems with room mates, with opposite sex, lack of self-confidence, problems concerning studies, problems faced in inter-family relationships, mourning etc.
- Will anybody know that I have come to PCG?
As a matter of ethical rules, all PCG services conform to confidentiality. Personal details of applicant students are kept as a secret and are not disclosed to anybody, department or institution without their demand and consent.
- How do you make announcements of working groups and seminars?
You may follow our program announcements through our web site, program brochures sent to departments and attached on bulletin boards.

- When do you implement your working groups and seminars?
Dates of our programs are available at our web site’s Activity Schedule and program brochures sent to departments or attached on bulletin boards. Also, you can get them through e-mails.
- How can I register to working groups and seminars?
You can register to working groups and seminars through our web site or by coming directly to our center after its announcement.
- Are your services paid?
All of our services are provided for students of Istanbul Arel University and free of charge.
- Do you provide medical treatment services in your center?
Psychological Counseling and Guidance Services are professional services provided for “healthy persons”. Staff providing services to our students, consists of psychologists and psychological consultants. Psychologists and psychological consultants are not allowed to administer medication.
