International ELT Conference 29 - 30 May 2009 date was held at the AREL University in Istanbul by the School of Foreign Languages for exchanging ideas and sharing experiences as well as English language teaching techniques for educators on the international dimension. The  conference began with Assist.Prof.Dr. Hidayet Tuncay's keynote speech, School of Foreign Languages Director and the university Rector Prof. Dr. Ömer Asım SAÇLI. After the opening speech, a violin recital with Merve TUNCAY said welcome to guests.On the first day of the conference, our rector Prof. Dr. Ömer Asım SAÇLI and  Assist.Prof. Dr. Hidayet TUNCAY, Director of the School of Foreign Languages gave a cocktail in the garden in honor of the guests. Keynote speakers such as Prof.Dr. Mehmet Demirezen from  Hacettepe University and Prof.Dr. Özcan Demirel as well as the foreign speakers participated in the ELT conference.

The foreign participants, Suzan Davies from City & Guilds, Rod Webb from Garnet Education Publishing, Paul Seligson from Oxford University Publishing,and Kristina Smith from Pearson Longman Tom Godfrey from Cambridge University Publishing were appreciated. Moreover, many national speakers besides the foreign guests such as Anna Beilharz, Olena Benedyktova, Gael Morag MacFarlane have been followed with interest in the seminar presentations. The conference hall in Istanbul AREL University Sefakoy Campus and the classrooms were used for  the presentations
